Cotswolds Delights

Our first stop today will be in the picturesque town of Moreton-in-Marsh, where the charter market is held every week of the year. There will be time for a good look around the market and lunch.Moreton in Marsh market is "a nationally famous and internationally acclaimed traditional town centre market". Moreton market is situated in the High Street and is said by many to be most stunning market location in England Moreton market is a modern event, established by Cotswold Markets since 1976 by virtue of market charter granted in 1629. The market benefits from very busy local trade, as well as being a popular destination for coach tours and shopping days out all year round.

After lunch we set off through the pretty Cotswolds scenery to Burford. Burford's famous High Street sweeps downhill towards the River Windrush, its medieval bridge and its impressive church, both sides of the street flanked by an unbroken line of ancient houses and shops. Little has changed over the centuries, Burford is popular with visitors, both for its beauty and history but also for its shopping, especially antiques, and for the wide variety of places to eat, with restaurants, pubs and teashops. You can even visit England's oldest pharmacy - Reavley's has been a chemist since 1734 Half way down the hill, the 16th century Tolsey building, once the meeting place for medieval merchants, now houses The Tolsey Museum, a delightful, local museum illustrating the town's social and industrial past.
