The Postal Museum & Mail Rail

Travel back in time to discover the unexpected story of the first social network - the post! This extraordinary process stretches back more than 500 years and has kept us all in the loop without the need of the internet.

Now, you'll get to see how it changed our lives - from five-wheeled cycles and rockets to piracy on the high seas and a restored Mail Coach that sped across 1800s Britain!

Get up close to the world's first postage stamp, the Penny Black, see flintlock pistols used to defend the mail, marvel over a Victorian miniature rail car that shot post (and people) under London's streets, and even try your hand at sorting the mail on a mock up train carriage complete with wobbly floor.

Your ticket also gets you a ride on Mail Rail. Board a miniature train to explore this underground London gem with a 15 minute trip deep underground through the long-hidden tunnels of the Post Office's very own railway dating back over 100 years.  There will be time for you to obtain lunch before our afternoon entrance
