Skip to content Scarborough is Britains oldest seaside resort and is the perfect haven to unwind. Set in an area of unsurpassed natural beauty, it has two golden sandy beaches, a bustling harbour, an ancient castle and stunning cliff-top views.
Day 1 We travel to our hotel.
Day 2 Our first visit takes us to the pretty village of Goathland, hidden away in the stunning North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The village has attracted visitors since the 19th century, but Goathlands popularity has soared since its appearance as Aidensfield in the hit TV series Heartbeat and its role in the Harry Potter films. Next we travel to the charming coastal town of Whitby, famed for its connection to Bram Stokers Dracula and for its striking jewellery. There is time to explore the narrow streets, perhaps buy some Whitby Jet the black amber of the north, and have proper fish and chips for lunch.
Day 3 Today we travel to Bridlington, a traditional town situated on Yorkshires East Coast and is home to miles of beaches that have won awards, which are accompanied by mossy cliffs full of natural wonder. Bridlingtons brick and stone buildings, colourful shop fronts and cafes create a delightful mixture. Afternoon free in Scarborough.
Day 4 We head to the lovely market town of Beverley, one of Yorkshires best-kept secrets, boasting quaint courtyards, cobbled streets and historic buildings. The lovely 13th-century Minster is well worth a visit (not included), renowned for its medieval stone carvings and pretty stained glass, and there is also a range of lovely boutiques, cafes and pubs. For the perfect mix of town and coat we then make our way to the charming seaside town of Hornsea. Browse the shops for some famous Hornsea pottery, enjoy a stroll on the Blue Flag beach or admire the largest freshwater lake in Yorkshire, home to whole host of bird species.
Day 5 Homeward bound.
