Skip to content We travel to the attractive town of Romsey described as the jewel in the crown of Hampshire. There will be time to explore the town, perhaps visiting the Abbey where Lord Louis Mountbatten is buried or King Johns House, home to Romsey Museum. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants and pubs in which to find lunch. In the afternoon we make the short journey to Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, established in 1953 and home to a remarkable collection of trees, shrubs and plants. The iconic centenary Border is the longest double herbaceous border in the UK and is a kaleidoscope of colour, stunning from May through to October. You can also enjoy the tranquillity of the pond, banked by lush foliage and giant Gunnera. Price includes entrance with cream tea.
